Meet Sage

Meet Sage

After a horrible breakup that ended a serious relationship, Sage, a black Labrador, came into my life. She saved me and was the reason I got out of bed and kept moving. Sage means the absolute world to me. Her small stature and happy personality just brings so much joy to our family.

Fast forward a few years, I met an amazing man that is now my husband because of her. He had a Blue Nose Pitbull puppy, named Luna, and the pups soon became best friends. We eventually grew our family and had 2 beautiful children who adore Sage to pieces. Sage watches them play, always wants to play fetch and likes to wait for scraps to fall from their hands.

In the last 2 years, Sage has been even more of a blessing to get our family through a rough time. Our brave daughter was born with Congenital Heart Disease (4 heart defects). We have been in and out of the hospital for multiple procedures and testing. Sage is always so happy to see us, especially our daughter. She lays right beside her or below her and she has become our daughters protector. This year, at age 2, was the first year the cardiologist allowed our daughter to be “normal” and she asks to go outside every day with Sage to play fetch. We feel Sage is helping her as much as she is loving on Sage.

Sage’s diagnoses came as a surprise to us because we were told the tumor was benign. She went in for a regular check up and shots are not being seen for almost a year due to COVID. The surprise news and cost of procedure now makes us financially tight due to our daughters medical bills and expenses.

Saving Gracie allows dogs a second chance at life, that is what we want for our sweet Sage. We feel that Sage deserves a second chance because she is still healthy, she is still able to get around and be a normal dog. She has no other health issues besides her tumor. We are very grateful to have her this long and would like to let her live her best life in the years to come. Sage means so much to our family, we can’t imagine her not waiting for us at the door.
