Love Story: Stitch was a surprise/ gift from a family friend in January this year. I fell in love the minute I saw him and honestly have had the name picked out for years. I was blown away as I have wanted a Frenchie since I was 15 years old. I fell in love with the breed then as my eldest son’s grandmother bred, raised, and showed them at dog shows, way before anyone liked Frenchies or they became popular. It’s honestly been a really hard 2 years. Divorce, having to work 2 jobs (one full-time, one part-time, a total of 7 days a week) for over a year. Then my father had heart/health problems, resulting in him moving in so I could help care for him until he was able to return to work and “normal” life, and then we lost our long-time family pet, Magnus, a rescued German Shepherd, to old age unexpectedly in November 2023. That really hit hard as I lay on the floor in our home with him as he took his last breaths. I had sworn off another pet, but Stitch has healed my heart and I’ve bonded deeply with him, as have the entire family. Stitch is so very much loved and is treated like a baby; silly, but I actually tell everyone he’s my baby. Even the kids tell everyone Stitch is their baby brother; when I tuck the kids in for bed, Stitch joins me and gives them kisses good night, too.
